With the help of TriniSpirit.com and Soca Warriors Online, the Warrior Nation raised over $6000 for their annual food drive in December 2011.
“For 2011, the Warrior Nation took its holiday charity drive to the southern borough of Point Fortin, birthplace of many of Trinidad and Tobago’s national footballers.
This time around, the recipient was the Ferndean Children’s Home, located in Harriman Park. Established in 1991, Ferndean Children’s Home has a maximum capacity of 22 children, and currently house 14 children ranging from 3-14 years old. The kids are usually placed there via a court order, but are allowed to maintain contact with their families.
In total, we raised $6,300 TTD and we also received donated food items.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank those who participated in this endeavor, and we look forward to doing it once again in 2012. A special mention goes to TriniSpirit.com, who pledged their support for this event back in October, Joann Charles who had the unenviable task of doing the shopping, and Tyron Waterman and Nkosi Wiley who assisted with the delivery of the items.”
